When to start wedding dress shopping?
First off, huge congratulations on saying "yes" to your forever partner! This is such a magical time!
Shopping for your wedding look can be one of the most exciting parts of planning your wedding, but timing is key to ensure a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Here's a few tips to help you navigate the wonderful world of bridal!
Timing is everything.
It is best to kick things off about 12 months before your wedding date. While this might sound like a long time, in the world of bridal, it's just enough time to ensure your dream gown arrives right on schedule.
At The Wedding Studio Berkshire, I only partner with independent designers who handcrafted each beautiful piece to order using only the finest fabrics, resulting in gowns that are as unique as you are. Lead times typically range from 6 to 10 months, so it's never too early to start exploring your options.
And don’t forget alterations.
While your dress is made to order, achieving that perfect fit often requires a little tweaking. Ideally, you would allow up to 3 months for alterations, which will include multiple fittings to ensure your gown fits you like a glove on your wedding day.
Don’t have that long? Don’t panic!
Sometimes time isn't on our side, but please don’t worry. My designers can accommodate shorter timelines (for a rush fee), meaning it is still totally possible to have your dream wedding look when you’re tighter on time. Simply get in touch and we can discuss your options.
